Thiruvananthapuram, May 20 (PTI) Kerala will request the central government to take back sacked Indian footballer C K Vineeth, whose service was terminated by Kerala Accountant Generals office here due to lack of attendance. If the centre is reluctant, then the state government would offer him a job, Sports and Industries Minister A C Moideen told reporters. Moideen and opposition leader in the state assembly Ramesh Chennithala had earlier written to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India to reconsider the decision to terminate his service. Kerala government would once again write to the centre in this regard, he said. Sports Minister Vijay Goel has also come out in support of Vineeth. “A player has to play continuously and hence is unable to meet the mandatory guideline. I will speak to Kerala Chief Minister and Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) office in New Delhi to seek their intervention to accommodate this player and change the rules”, the minister had said in Delhi yesterday. Vineeth joined the Accountant Generals office in 2012 through sports quota. His service was terminated for lack of adequate attendance. The footballer has played both in the I-League and Indian Super League. PTI UD RC AH AH
Chelsea FC have released a statement confirming they will appeal FIFA’s decision to ban them from registering new players for the next two transfer windows. The World football governing body found Chelsea guilty of breaching rules regarding the signings of 29 minors.Which means permanent deals for ex-Inter midfielder Mateo Kovacic and Juventus loanee Gonzalo Higuain are equally in doubt. However, the Blues hit back in an official statement: “Chelsea FC has today received a decision from the FIFA Disciplinary Committee concerning alleged breaches of the FIFA Regulations that relate to the international transfer of players under the age of 18.“The decision imposes a transfer ban of two consecutive registration periods and a fine of 600k Swiss francs. Chelsea FC categorically refutes the findings of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee and will, therefore, be appealing the decision.“The club wishes to emphasise that it respects the important work undertaken by FIFA in relation to the protection of minors and has fully cooperated with FIFA throughout its investigation.“Initially, Chelsea FC was charged under Articles 19.1 and 19.3 in relation to 92 players. We welcome the fact that FIFA has accepted that there was no breach in relation to 63 of these players, but the club is extremely disappointed that FIFA has not accepted the club’s submissions in relation to the remaining 29 players.Match Preview: Wolverhampton vs Chelsea Boro Tanchev – September 13, 2019 Wolverhampton will host Chelsea at the Molineux Stadium in one of the most interesting Premier League games this weekend.Chelsea Football Club has today issued the following statement. https://t.co/V4HBdmdcyr— Chelsea FC (@ChelseaFC) February 22, 2019“Chelsea FC acted in accordance with the relevant regulations and will shortly be submitting its appeal to FIFA.”The future of manager Maurizio Sarri has also come back under the spotlight, amidst speculation of a move to Roma next season.Chelsea fans will be hoping for the brighter side of things when they face Man City in the Carabao Cup finals. A trophy may help douse the tensions that has rocked the club in recent weeks.
Kevin De Bruyne believes Carabao Cup final success on Sunday will spur Manchester City on for the rest of the campaign but warned against complacency. The League Cup has proved to be a good omen for City as they have gone on to win the Premier League twice after securing the trophy both in 2014 and 2018.And De Bruyne says it crucial to keep fighting on four fronts for as long as possible.“We have the first final on Sunday and, of course, it’s the first title you can win,” he told the club website.“We’ve won it three times in the last six years I think it’s always nice to win it.“Out of the four titles we are trying for, we know it is considered the lesser of the four, but we don’t think like that – it’s one of only four trophies you can win, and we want to win it.“Plus, it always helps to win something. If at the end of the year you win something you can say that.“You always want to win the big ones, but if you don’t win the big ones then at least you have something to show for it in an OK season.De Bruyne equally hinted on Liverpool’s challenge this season suggesting the title will be too close to call this season.“We are in a good position in the league. Obviously, we want to be champions again and we are still there which means we have been busy, and we are doing well.Premier League Betting: Match-day 5 Stuart Heath – September 14, 2019 Going into the Premier League’s match-day five with a gap already beginning to form at the top of the league.
