first_img 6= Leighton Baines (Everton) – Nine assists – Click right to find out the Premier League’s top creator… – It’s not been a vintage season for England international Baines but the left-back, thanks to his ability at set-pieces, has still managed to assist a team-mate on nine occasions, which is pretty good considering how Roberto Martinez’s side struggled early on in the campaign. 8 The Premier League season has finished after a thrilling 38-game campaign and a goal-laden final day.In the ten games across the division on Sunday, 29 goals were scored in total, with Sergio Aguero’s strike for Manchester City against Southampton in their 2-0 victory securing him the golden boot as he finished the term with 26 goals, five ahead of Tottenham hotshot Harry Kane. What about the creators, though? In total, there were 975 goals in 380 matches up and down England, so who put the ball on a plate for the division’s best goalscorers and made the most assists?Click the arrow on the right above to find out… 8 3= Angel di Maria (Manchester United) – 10 assists – Click right to find out the Premier League’s top creator… – Signed for a British record fee of £59.7million from Real Madrid in the summer and, while he may have disappointed in some respects considering his huge price tag, he’s still managed to lay on ten goals for his Red Devils team-mates. 8 3= Chris Brunt (West Brom) – 10 assists – Click right to find out the Premier League’s top creator… – The Northern Irishman has, as the cliché goes, got a wand of a left foot and, if he isn’t slamming home the odd long range strike, he’s crossing the ball in to his team-mates with tremendous accuracy. 8 6= Eden Hazard (Chelsea) – Nine assists – Click right to find out the Premier League’s top creator… – Lauded as the player of the season by both his peers and the football writers, the Belgian superstar has been magnificent for the Blues in their title winning campaign. His darting runs from the left and breathtaking skill mean he’s able to create havoc and plenty of goals. 3= Gylfi Sigurdsson (Swansea City) – 10 assists – Click right to find out the Premier League’s top creator… – Tottenham fans were stunned by the news they would be swapping Icelandic midfield star Sigurdsson for Welsh defensive starlet Ben Davies and, after rejoining the Jacks, he’s starred in an attacking midfield role, plundering seven goals and making ten more for his team-mates. 8 1. Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea) – 18 assists – One of the biggest signings of last summer, it was a shock to see Fabregas move to Stamford Bridge rather than return to former club Arsenal from Barcelona. It may well now be a regret of Arsene Wenger’s that he didn’t try harder to land the ex-Gunner, with £30million probably seeming like a snip to Jose Mourinho as the pair parade the Premier League trophy around west London. 2. Santi Cazorla (Arsenal) – 11 assists – Click right to find out the Premier League’s top creator… – The diminutive Spaniard has had an excellent season at Arsenal, both in terms of goals and assists. Seven strikes have helped the Gunners finish in third place and his 11 assists for team-mates like Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez were key as the north Londoners avoided having to play a qualifier to reach the Champions League group stage. 8 8 6= Jordan Henderson (Liverpool) – Nine assists – Click right to find out the Premier League’s top creator… – The season ended badly for Brendan Rodgers’ side as they slipped down to sixth following a 6-1 defeat to Stoke City but, in midfielder Henderson, they at least have a reliable performer, who can both score and create. 8last_img read more
